1.) The DA admitted at trial he had no motive? Can you commit a crime without a motive?
2.) The DA had no physical evidence. There were three guns found at the scene. But there was no evidence presented at the trial. Valentino was stripped and searched for gun residue, he had none? Yet none of this evidence was presented at trial.
3.) The Lead Detective never testified at trial The lead detective was told before the trial by Lamar that he shot and killed Torriano, But the lead detective never presented this info at trial.
4.)The first officer on the scene didn't testify The first officer was not invited in to tell what she saw, and reported. She was kept from the stand and told the city news that she "only would have told the truth".
5.) Three eyewitnesses were called to testify One witness admitted to being under the influence of weed, crack, and 40oz beer, he was also out on bail for rape. At trial he said "I was 150 yds. away". Witness Two was also out on bail for drug charges, and admitted to a private investigator that he lied after the trial. Witness three told police he was unsure after being interviewed twice, 8 months later he stated that it is was Valentino, and that "his memory got better with time".
The judge claimed these witnesses were credible.
However the master degreed witnesses who claimed Valentino's innocence weren't called at all.
